![]() ![]() No fan in the bathroom, and the window looks right into the building behind. The sink was just a big hole with a missing stopper. The hand towel rack by the sink had a year's worth of dust on top of the mount even though it's right there in your face. The bathroom floor clearly hadn't been swept before our visit, and the corners were dirty like they're never cleaned. Nothing was disgustingly filthy, but the cleaning left a lot to be desired. The furniture is pretty beat up with lots of dings and scratches revealing the wood below the painted finish. ![]() The situation with the room is odd - it's like it was renovated not too long ago but with the cheapest possible furniture and then only lazily cleaned since then. We had a single queen room, and while it was ok, I wouldn't go back. The location is good, but not unique as Morro Bay has many hotels in walking distance of the waterfront. We will not be back to this hotel for any reason and although it seems like a deal I would pay a little more money and stay at a place where you feel safe to sleep as far as hygiene. They do not properly care for the exterior of the building as well as you can see in some of the photos that I posted. We stayed for two days and didn't even bother to use the shower because this hotel and everything in it felt unsanitary. It is not just the bathroom although it seems to radiate out of there. The smell of urine in the room is very strong as others have posted in their comments about this hotel. As I started to look around the room I realized that nothing had been wiped down properly. I just happened to stand up and the sheep pulled off and exposed a lot of black hair underneath. Upon arrival I had to have them come change the sheets because there was hair all over the mattress cover under the sheet. After 10 years of numerous bookings I will never use this 3rd Party again.… We should have stayed at the Best Western down the road after being double charged totalling $330US or $480CDN for this dive for 1 nite. Ohhh, and don’t pay extra for a view bc this motel isn’t even on the Water. ![]() We quickly got up at 6am due to a lack of sleep to get out of this place. You can see from the pictures this place is a dive with mold, dust, stains, duck tape and dirty beds. I did this right in front of the Fireside Inn Manager in seconds and found out yesterday that will not honor their written promise on my Refund bc of their problem with their suppler Fireside Inn. We called Mary at customer service and she said there were technical difficulties and just Cancel the room online with Motels, com and she would give me a $165.44 credit and then rebook. After a 4 hour drive from San Fran we checked in with the Manager and he said we didn’t prepay so I showed him my receipt and he still refused to give me a room. This is the Worst review I have ever given from my 200 TA reviews. Overall we did like the location, but next time in Morro Bay will pay more for peace and quiet.… If your light sleeper this is your warning. We gave it 3.5 because of the noise and very thin walls. You will hear the birds all the time and see the droppings everywhere but that is Morro Bay. Probable reason the prices are a little lower than other in this good location. No fault of the Fireside INN but sounds like this is a common occurrence at the Inn. We didn't want to cause any ruckus and ask them to quiet it down, but where is the common courtesy. First night the room next to us played music until midnight and then stayed up until 2am doing what young couples do. Now the one thing and as you read in the previous posts, the walls are super thin. The location is good with free parking and easy walking distance to all the sites, restaurants, and the Morro Rock. We did like that the soap, shampoo, containers were not the little throwaway bottles most hotels use and is a huge plastic waste. We were in 221 second floor and the rooms are big enough for two people with a nice bed, fridge, microwave, etc. We open the doors and let the cool breeze in to air the room out. Upon entering the room, there was a smell of bleach, which in the past would have been issue but told us the room was being sanitized. During these COVID times, the Inn practiced social distancing protocols with our check in being fast and good.
